Contempt For God’s Kindness

Contempt For God’s Kindness

We show contempt for the riches of God’s kindness when we judge, condemn, hate, and gossip.

They spit on the work of the cross as they condemned THOSE People.

Forgetting that they have been forgiven and given eternal life, they judged the weaknesses and wounded ways of THOSE People.

Shouting down the kind and gracious voice of God, they greedily offered up their tongues and ears to gossip and rumor about THOSE People.

Thinking that love was something they, instead of God, defined they religiously hated THOSE People.

They enthusiastically declared that God hated THOSE People.

They proclaimed that God spoke poorly of THOSE People.

They declared that God was more interested in judgment and punishment than grace and rescue.

They were wrong.

“And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will befor all the people…”  (Luke 2:9-10 NASB)
