The main point of the Easter story is that JESUS WAS DEAD BUT IS NOW ALIVE. The main point of the Easter story today, right now, it that I WAS DEAD BUT NOW I AM ALIVE!
When we focus on The Cross without going to it and preach the Resurrection without being resurrected ourselves, then the power is not transferred to the world around us.
There is power when we bend our knee at the cross, we die, are resurrected, and empowered by the Spirit of God. There is no power in believing the historic facts of the Easter story.
It is your birthright to be ALIVE. It is your birthright to wake up and have a destiny here on earth.
“When you were dead in your sins…” means we are no longer dead in our sins. This is the good news of the gospel that even when we are sinning we are not dead in our sins!
